Merchant Identification

My book of 2010

In fact, there is my book of the year from 2 books because they belong together and are both pretty good, so I just can not decide which I now think better.

I speak of "The Tribute of Panem. The trilogy has been published in two volumes, the addition of "Deadly Games" and "Dangerous Love" bear. Written by Suzanne Collins's books were published and they are in Oetinger-Verlag.

On Twitter I had already read more about it, I kept the books but because of the cover for anything sci-fi or something like Medieval. Both interest me at all and yes even the text sound on the back not for me in the least informative.
At the Book Fair, I am determined 50 times on Oetinger stand by and under Panem by the huge banner. There even was Volume 3 on the shelf ...

And then I got "Deadly Games" by chance in the fingers ... Chapter 1, I still have more scrolls ... from Chapter 2 but I read carefully and very very quickly ... and to place without any chance the book down - I had to read it in a train until the morning around 4 or so.
And even though I was tired - but I could find no point where I could put it aside.

What is it about the book about? It is about the fictional country of Panem, it is divided into districts and each district produces certain things (and nothing else), it is authoritarian and directed all the districts are different depending on what rich they produce. There
Once a year there is a great duty event - the games (in the original they are called "Hunger Games" I find very appropriate) and will require each of the 12 districts (the 13 no longer exists) 2 "volunteers" to send the children from the / young people will be drawn - each 1 boy and 1 girl. Then there are the tributes of Panem. The games take so long until only a tribute to the lives, the location is changed every year - once a desert, a jungle sometimes ... which decides the authorities, the adversity (eg natural disasters) can be set from there and change each year. You have to participate
and the people of Panem receives every day of the events Zusammenfassug of the day, I would compare it to daily summaries of Big Brother.

The book then goes to Peta Katniss and both compete for their district, Katniss voluntarily because her little sister was pulled from the Lostopf. The reader learns how organized by the TV spectacle of the opening show and then go with Katniss take place in the arena where the games ...

me the book has captivated incredibly strong, I could not even put it down and had feared with Katniss, suffered and even cry.
addition to all the action in the arena is also always social criticism / critique of the system by which brought me much food for thought and many a time pulled my brain of alone parallels to current events ...

Logically, that immediately Volume 2 "Dangerous Love" and also had to follow this band I've swallowed without any break, to content but I will not say much else is equal, say too much.

So if something with elves, wizards, or any medieval expected figures will be disappointed not to find them, but those who just want a fascinating, well written and read in places for me terrifying latest book is right here.
I would, however, lay directly in any case, Volume 2 on hold.

No other of my books read in 2010 has impressed me as sustainable and so tied up like these two volumes Panem.

Volume 3 will be available on 20.1. and I'm very excited - angry at the book fair that I did not know how good this series is, otherwise I would have my nose just in the 3rd Put the band standing around since the Oetinger-Verlag.
